The USL W League announced on Monday the first of many awards for the 2024 regular season. Stony Brook University forward Luciana Setteducate earned the Golden Boot after a standout season with the Long Island Rough Riders.
Setteducate scored 18 goals in her first year of W League play and helped the Rough Riders to their undefeated campaign with a record of 10-0-2. She scored one more goal in the playoffs, where Long Island recorded its first W League postseason win with a 2-1 victory over Eagle FC in the Eastern Conference Semifinal.
The striker started 10 of the 12 matches played, totaling 791 regular season minutes. Setteducate recorded three braces and had two matches where she scored four goals. She also added five assists on the season.
Stay tuned for later this week when the W League's Golden Glove, Coach of the Year, Defender of the Year and Young Player of the Year will be announced.
